About Us
Established 1906.
118 years of Cricket legacy and community!
Welcome to Carnegie Cricket Club, a dynamic and inclusive cricket community where the spirit of the game flourishes. With a deep-rooted history and a dedication to nurturing a passion for cricket, we cater to players of all ages and skill levels, making us one of the most active cricket clubs in the region.
The Club History
Carnegie Cricket Club’s home ground, Koornang Park, has seen significant transformation over the years. What was once a simple field bordered by iconic pine trees has become a premier cricket facility with modern amenities, including an expansive pavilion, new fencing, and high-power floodlights.
Early Days:
The club’s history dates back to at least 1906/07, originally known as ‘Rosstown.’ It played in a field near the Rosstown Hotel before the suburb was renamed Carnegie in 1909. By 1913, the club had moved to Koornang Park, where it continued to develop and thrive.
Growth and Success:
Carnegie Cricket Club secured its first premiership in 1926/27, followed by more victories in the late 1920s and 1930s. The club’s success continued through the pre-war and post-war periods, establishing it as a strong and enduring presence in the local cricket scene.
